CIRCULAR
ECONOMY

IMPROVE THE ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE OF OUR PRODUCTS FROM DESIGN TO END OF LIFE

The circular economy aims to improve the use of resources throughout a product’s life cycle in order to reduce its impact on the environment

Every day we strive to move towards a circular economy model by integrating the use and end of life of our products from the very beginning of their design to increase their life span(s) and optimise their disassembly or recycling.

Our concrete actions

AUTOMATING SHOE RECYCLING WITH RESHOES

Through our Innovation Lab, dedicated to researching industrial solutions for the repair, refurbishment, and recycling of shoes for our brands, we have partnered with the BALI Chair and CETIA in the industrialization project of circularity named Reshoes. Conceived and created in September 2023 alongside partners such as Decathlon France, Salomon, and Refashion, Reshoes is an automated line based in Hendaye (64) that dismantles shoes (separating the upper from the sole) and detects materials to direct the different components towards recycling.

Reshoes contributes to accelerating our transition towards circularity in the footwear industry. This initiative allows us to identify dismantling criteria to integrate into our eco-design tools and promote product decarbonization while stabilizing their prices. The goal? To achieve the dismantling of a thousand shoes per day through automation!

SESSILE, REPAIRABLE AND RECYCLABLE SHOES

Sessile has done it: repairable and recyclable sneakers, created and manufactured in France. Thanks to the repair and reconditioning process offered by La Manufacture, Sessile sneakers can be repaired to extend their lifespan: resoling, leather re-dyeing, and replacement of laces and insoles. To date, several hundred pairs have already been repaired. This service helps reduce waste while encouraging more responsible consumption.

If the sneakers are too damaged to be repaired, the materials are sorted, recycled, and repurposed. This concrete approach limits waste, with each step contributing to reducing everyone’s environmental impact and valuing local expertise.

With its repairable and recyclable sneakers, Sessile considers the end of its product’s life right from the design stage!

TBS PARTNERS WITH LES RÉPARABLES

To encourage its customers to repair their clothes, TBS partnered in 2024 with Les Réparables, a Vendée-based sewing workshop specializing in clothing repair services.

Through this partnership, TBS enables its customers to reduce their environmental impact by extending the lifespan of their products and democratizing textile repair. Tears, broken zippers, snags, or holes in the garment… The “Les Réparables” teams have genuine expertise in repairing the brand’s clothing.

With its Les Réparables x TBS offer, the brand continues its efforts towards more responsible fashion:

A repaired jacket has 44% less environmental impact compared to buying a new one.

MONTLIMART DEVELOPS PROECTS USING RECYLED MATERIALS

The Montlimart teams believe that to limit the impact of fashion on the environment, they must be in perpetual search for new materials and techniques that allow for reuse, recycling, and waste reduction.

Since becoming a mission-driven company in 2023, the brand has continuously expanded its range of products made from recycled materials, certified by an international label meeting environmental and social requirements: GRS (Global Recycled Standard) for recycled fibers, GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) for natural fibers, and OEKO-TEX 100 for both natural and synthetic fibers.

In its winter 2024 collection, Montlimart also uses Seaqual®, a 100% recycled and GRS and OEKO-TEX 100 certified yarn, partly made from waste recovered from the oceans. Specifically, Seaqual® is composed of 10% marine waste and 90% post-consumer PET, meaning recycled plastics from our terrestrial waste.
