ECO-DESIGNING PRODUCTS WITH LOWER IMPACTS
Eco-design is the primary action lever for our brands. To reduce the environmental impact of our activities, we are working on designing more responsible products:
- by using recycled, bio-based, or innovative materials,
- by extending the lifespan of our products and enhancing their durability in use,
- by making them more repairable and more recyclable.
In 2024, the Group recorded 36.3% of eco-designed products across all brands.
Our concrete actions
MORE THAN 50% OF ECO-DESIGNED SHOES AT TBS
At TBS, more than half of the shoe collections are made from innovative, recycled, and bio-based materials.
The uppers (the top part of the shoe) are mostly made from knit, a fabric composed of over 70% recycled polyester, or leather from Leather Working Group (LWG) tanneries, a standard that ensures leather production is environmentally friendly and socially responsible. With a thickness of 2mm on unlined shoes, this leather is intentionally thicker to extend the lifespan of the pair, which also contributes to its eco-design.
The durability of TBS shoes is further enhanced by the main material used for the soles: rubber. Used since the brand’s inception in 1978, this material is particularly durable and abrasion-resistant, which extends the lifespan of the shoes.
Since winter 2024, more than 50% of the shoe range is eco-designed, demonstrating TBS’s commitment to a more sustainable future.
GEMO DESIGNS ITS COLLECTIONS FOR FAMILIES
The brand “tailored for family life” designs durable and responsible collections to best meet the needs of its customers. Using recycled materials, more resistant products designed for a second life… GEMO works on its collections for their durability and practicality in the daily lives of families.
This translates to:
- more robust pants at the knees, to withstand numerous playground games,
- ultra-resistant t-shirts, to easily endure many machine washes,
- baby bodysuits made of organic cotton, which can be passed down to future siblings or cousins…
100% of the bodysuits are made from organic cotton.
